Our Beliefs

Disclaimer: Axios Unaltered members come from diverse faith traditions and backgrounds, and all faith traditions and backgrounds are welcome at our meetings. The phrase "our beliefs" is moreso a reflection of the mindset of Axios group leaders, rather than that of the individual members.

Tradition

Our Axios Unaltered founder, Sammi, grew up Baptist and has been working in Presbyterian and Methodist churches since 2017. Because of this, Axios Unaltered's theology does not strictly align with one denomination or another, but rather borrows bits and pieces of many different faith traditions.  Our group seeks to be a space where anyone feels comfortable and welcome despite varying denominational or personal beliefs and no particular Christian tradition will be promoted over any other.

Who is God?

God is three in one, the Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the creator of all things and the one true source of grace, love, and righteousness.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the son of God sent to earth in order to save humanity from themselves. Through the mysteries of God, He is both fully human and fully divine, and therefore was able to pay the penalty for our sins through His death on the cross and resurrection.

What is the Bible?

The Bible is a collection of ancient writings, divinely inspired by God and recorded by humans. The Bible includes accounts of history, poetry, correspondence, and prophecy, all of which point back to God's power, love, grace, and holiness. The Bible provides humanity with an opportunity to get to know God personally and grow in relationship with Him.

What is a Christian?

A Christian is a person who recognizes their sin/imperfection and their need for grace. They have accepted God's free gifts of grace and salvation, and seek to serve God through love and worship, as well as through love and service to God's creation.
